Was it just me, or has it been a slow week in the blogosphere?? Guess everyone is just too distracted by the latest in the Met A Stranger® series to go out and do much of anything in SL, afraid they will miss something. I can relate.
Speaking of, I got a last minute call indicating I needed to head over to Leviathan Studios and help get set up for an important scene that was to be shot the other day, and didn't have time to call in the corporate chopper, had to take my personal one over, and with the current fuel prices, I wasn't too happy about.
Apparently, with the closing of the local Topgol casino, the Studios found themselves with a sudden lack of a manual labour workforce, and I had to get my hands dirty setting up the shoot. I'm too old for this crap! I'm pretty sure I got a splinter AND broke a nail! grrr Worst day of my life.
What I really wanted to be focusing on, instead of working for one of thee best most well respected movie studios around (shhh, you never know, they could read this blog), is paying attention to what's been happening at home.
See, I had established a church in the sky above my house around 650m up there, so I could meditate and capture some kickass sunsets with unobstructed views and lack of lag. See?
Imagine how pleasant it was to come home the other day and notice a towering huge skymall shadowing my little escape from it all area.
Yes, a huge 8k m parcel in the middle of the sim sold overnight and the new owners immediately installed the biggest mall in the sky the could fit on that size land. Right at 700m, blocking any views I had hoped to enjoy.
So, I raise my little build up to 750m and continue to relax as before. Next day, I notice the new owners had visited my church, which if you will recall, is 750m up so they couldn't just fly over there by accident, you need flight assistance, and then they proceeded to add yet another level to the bottom of their skymall, I am guessing in hopes of adding even more customers and lag to the atmosphere. Brilliant.
And I am guessing since they built this eyesore in the sky, they are thinking it's okay to have wagering devices on full display, despite the recent policy change? I really need to figure out the abuse report system.
And not just because of that, but very similarly related. Check this out. Working out in my yard on building some cubes as usual and suddenly a flag stakes itself into the ground right in front of my head almost decapitating me! And it spams a website location as it settles into place before me. I didn't even see the owner of it show on the radar! In fact, TWO flags were placed on my land! They picked the wrong person to be sympathetic to their cause, though, and not just because of their methods of announcement, either. (I have crossed out the sign in the photo, just so no reader accidentally thinks I am in support of that cause.)
So, this didn't make me too happy, obviously, and I thought, hmmm, maybe that's a abuse reportable offense? Not that I've ever been able to figure out how that's done anyway, but I checked the options for it.
Uh, guessing littering and spamming is okay? All I know is, if anyone runs across Getty Watanabe (who set the signs on the property) or Jon Colo (who created it) please thwack them good for me, you have my permission.

aaawwwhhh! i wanted that 8k parcel! :( i feel sad people are being stupid on your sim again XD whats up with that really.
and i'd like to say LL is gonna do something about the abuse report but i doubt it, the best you can do is delte the flags from your parcel :(

Oh, I don't have any plans of moving just yet - did Myg just start that rumour? I thought DW was mentioning the parcel for sale to Tiana, not to me. So everyone can relax, I'll have more homeland issues to post soon enough, I am sure. ;-)
