Wrath Paine vs. Random Goodness

OMG, I am so excited!! Have you seen the teaser circulating on teh internets for the next season of Met A Stranger®??? I had heard rumours that when Leviathan Industries took over operations in Topgol that the project might get canned, but apparently not! And who can ever believe anything The Inside Scoop® reports these days, anyway? Good to know that we have something to look forward to this summer, otherwise, you'd be stuck reading my exciting posts, much like my recent one on Voice that was only eighteen pages long. With no pictures.

Anyway, back to what's happening.

Okay, I am pretty sure my eyes aren't deceiving me, especially after seeing Timothy's latest post on the matter. I had work to do in SL and when I arrived in-world, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a familiar object hiding in my fountain. And an unsolicited texture popped up to confirm my suspicion.

Yeah, yeah, I hear ya. Fine, whatever - it's not like I haven't seen wild animals stray onto my property and act like they own the place. (Looking at you, Mr Giraffe guy! Or girl. Whatever. Quit eating all my trees!) Anyway, I am pretty sure it was Mr Flamingo, himself, back for another visit. I couldn't be bothered to shush him off my land, however, as I had important projects to pretend to work on.

I was (Away) for a bit and when I came back, I am pretty sure my eyes were deceiving me. Surely Mr Flamingo did not invite all his friends over to party?

Should I be nervous, at this point? Misery didn't seem pleased by this latest development, at all. Poor girl. She picked the wrong week to become a vegetarian.

Maybe I had been working too hard in SL this week, with various projects all culminating at once, and my eyes were just playing tricks on me after all, because I'm pretty sure just before I logged off, things were headed in the entirely wrong direction.

Fortunately, a relog later showed everything back to normal, but really, how long can that last, until we find out more about this Mr Flamingo dude and his true motivations... If you spot Mr Flamingo, please try and capture his actions on film and report your findings to Mr Timothy Lilliehook right away - we need to get to the bottom of this, people, otherwise.... Well, just saying.

I decided to take a quick moment to fly around and check out land for sale issues related to the Blog Pile Land discussion.

How easy would it be to buy up most or all of a sim without winning it at auction? Not too tricky, I think, although the land baron/purchaser will mark it up for a small profit margin, of course. But, finding mainland sims with plenty of plots available for bloggers to purchase is easy enough - the hard part would be coordinating 14 buyers to swoop in at once to seal the deal.

Which I am not entirely sure is possible - almost like someone will have to step up with the money upfront and resell the plots to the others when they are online, etc. Mainland sims seem to sell for more than Islands at auction and the only reason I can think of is because the monthly tier fees for a mainland sim are like $100 USD cheaper per month. Otherwise, wouldn't you just buy an Island for a cheaper price?

Speaking of cheaper prices, I thought this sign I ran into (actually, yes, literally ran into it when flying through a packet of lag) was interesting.

Hey, it's Wednesday! Did we get an update of any sort? As in, more regions with Voice enabled, or what? Did Linden Lab take a break from breaking stuff this week and go on vacation? Come back, I think I'm getting more memory leak problems from the First Look Voice viewer again!

What is with the "Mr Giraffe guy" comment? Her name is Meredith! And she only eats the mean leaves (you know, the ones that deserve it).

Timothy - Great, so we know he's up to something, but what, exactly?! It's the not knowing part that really gets to me. :-(

Sachiko! - Okay, so you checked? I was hoping someone would do so, but I knew it wasn't going to be me. I probably keep referring to it simply as 'giraffe' because I didn't want to get too attached should it wander off once all the mean leaves are gone. ;-)

I've gotten an updated file of voice enabled regions. If inworld I'll send it to you so you can check it against yours.

hehe Tiana, I'd like to say I stuck around long enough to hear if they did, however, I have to admit, I turned around and logged out of there as quickly as possible. ;-)
